Alicia Maass

Alicia Maass is a talented Mexican painter, born and raised in Mexico City in a family of artists. From a young age, she was surrounded by creativity and inspiration, especially by the influence of her grandmother, a renowned portraitist who left an artistic legacy that endures in her family. Her mother, also an artist, is known for her skill in watercolor, which further fueled Alicia's love for art.

Through her work, Alicia seeks to create uplifting art that expresses positive values and inspires beauty. She is convinced that it is essential to produce honest, well-executed work to achieve these goals. Her style is characterized by experimentation with various techniques, although oil is her preferred medium. Alicia strives to maintain a balance between realism and abstract elements in her works, giving them a unique quality.

Alicia had the fortune of learning to paint within her family, with her grandmother, aunt, and mother as her primary teachers. This intimate, personal education solidified her technique and artistic vision.

Her work has been exhibited in various galleries and exhibitions, both nationally and internationally, in emblematic places such as Paris, Madrid, and Bulgaria. In Mexico, she has exhibited collectively in important artistic venues, including the Franz Mayer Museum, the Soumaya Museum, the Watercolor Museum of Mexico City, and the Watercolor Museum of the State of Mexico.

Throughout her career, she has received several awards and recognitions, including second place in the national Rodin Prize and first place for her painting on the label of a wine collection from Bodegas de Viento.
