Alie Cooper

I'm pretty old now, but let's be clear- despite trying to pretend it's not so (sometimes for years), I am compelled to do art. It's true that I am happiest and feel most alive and in sync with myself and the universe when simply cooperating and painting. It seems only proper to share the outcome of this with you.

I've ridden (and on occasion crashed under) waves of instruction throughout the years and have been encouraged by a myriad of instructors and mentors and colleagues, in classes and workshops. I've studied drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, iconography, woodcuts, and always back to painting. Yet, I still have the audacity to claim I am 'self-taught'.
