Alejandro Rodriguez

My name is Alejandro Rodríguez, though in my artistic life I go by Alister a version of my name that just feels right for this part of me. I was born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia, and that's still home for me today.

I've been drawing since I was a kid I started with nothing more than a set of colored pencils and whatever I had on hand at the time. Nobody taught me. I just kept at it on my own, learning as I went, year after year. Art was always something private for me. I'd draw, I'd feel whatever I needed to feel, and then I'd just put it away. I never showed anyone. Honestly, I think I was scared to. But I finally got past that, and that's why I'm here now, sharing my work for the first time.

Over the years I've worked my way into other mediums too watercolor, acrylics, graphite, mixed media whatever feels right for what I'm trying to say. Most of my pieces come from something I'm feeling, some kind of reflection. My faith in God shows up a lot too, along with love, in one way or another. I'm not trying to make anything complicated I just want people to stop for a second, feel something, maybe find their own version of that feeling in the piece.
