Allan Myles

Award-winning photographer and cinematographer Allan Myles, was born in Glasgow, Scotland – the birthplace of his Glasgow Animals series – and currently resides there. After graduating from college at the age of 21, Allan set up his own studio before immigrating to Perth, Australia, where he lived and worked for 23 years, establishing a loyal client base. Allan has since been commissioned by international brands and has travelled the world, and Asia in particular, doing what he does best. Allan’s fine art photography is influenced by his global perspective. Salvador Dali’s surrealism, Edward Hopper’s ability to find art in everyday scenes, and Richard Avedon’s classical portraiture and craft with black and white, have all had a major impact on his artistic work. With a passion for classic styles, simplicity and emotion is critical to his output; there has to be feeling. Allan loves nothing more than making nothing, something. To him, that’s art.
