Allyson Paula James is an Abstract Expressionist painter living and creating in beautiful Wales. She is inspired by nature, through the dynamic colour, movement, transition and harmony of the world around her. She is a self-taught artist interested in exploring the impact of colour and movement in relation to psychological states and the diverse emotions of the human psyche.
Her painting technique involves using spontaneous gestural brushstrokes and palette knives to create a vision that captures natural rhythms, emotion and energy. The painting process is instinctive, providing an interplay of colour and movement open to the viewer to interpret.
