Aloo San

Aloosan is a France-based artist whose practice explores colour, light, matter, space and perception.

Over more than two decades, her work has moved between figuration and abstraction, dense material surfaces and transparent layers, while maintaining a recurring interest in how an image can remain open beyond what is immediately visible.

Working primarily in oil, she uses layering, translucent glazes, metallic and iridescent pigments to create surfaces whose colour and depth shift with light and the viewer's position. Her wider practice has also included experiments with projection, anamorphosis and ChromaDepth, extending this investigation into the physical experience of perception.

Aloosan does not seek to prescribe a single interpretation. The painting is complete on the canvas, yet the encounter continues through the viewer's own memory, associations and inner state.

Based in France, she has exhibited in France and internationally for more than twenty years. Her works are held in private collections, and her practice also extends to public, hospitality and licensed art projects.
