Artist Statement
Alyssia Surace is a Naarm based artist,
who embraces an artistic process that is bold, radical, mercurial and experimental.

Her portfolio comprises of moody ink illustrations, vibrant watercolour drawings, textured oil paintings and highly detailed mixed media art.

Alyssia's striking artworks have a rhythm comparable to the ecstatic dance, and improvisation that was at the creative forefront of her childhood, adolescences and early adulthood.
Her love for expressive movement permeates her artwork, the creative seed that gives birth to each painting.

With the exploration of the natural world, human emotions, our relationships with life, death and the celestial realms, these are common themes that appear in all of her artwork. While mythology has inspired the creation of fantastical landscapes.

Alyssia's unconventional, edgy quality is the core being of her unique expression and artistic voice.
