Amanda F Woodhead

I am a visual artist based in Hackney, London.

I take a brutalist, visceral approach to filming and developing my art, and am drawn to what some might consider mundane. I see the world's everyday scenes through an outré lens, watching an alternative narrative that I try to capture and translate into something extraordinary.

I am fascinated by the coexistence of multiple realities, trying to unravel them to capture an abstract perspective - a mood, an emotion - to show how a fleeting moment can entirely shift meaning. I like to play on the fragile line where opposites meet - pleasure and pain, light and dark, love and hate.

My work is an invitation to challenge perceptions of time and truth, and enter a space where the familiar becomes unfamiliar.
