Amanda Renske Mann

I am a London-based artist who specialises in landscape painting. My favourite media are acrylic and oil pastel, sometimes using collage too.

For the last five years I have spent my summers painting and working at Centro D'Arte Verrocchio, an art school in Tuscany set up by the sculptor Nigel Konstam. I am interested in capturing the mood and energy of Italy in my work and exploring how colour palettes create mood.


Although my work has an observational basis I do not use naturalistic colour and it is not my aim to reproduce what I see - rather to extract the essence of the place and my perception of it.


In my more recent work, I have abstracted the shapes and forms in the landscape whilst exploring colour and texture as I move into mixed media.
