Ana Espinal

Ana Espinal was born and raised in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. She currently lives
and works in the Bronx, NY. Through self-portrait photography, she reflects on the intersection
of femininity, identity, beauty standards, and womanhood. She received an AAS degree in
Commercial Photography from LaGuardia Community College and a BFA from the School of
Visual Arts. Her work has been exhibited in New York City, including group shows at SVA
Chelsea Gallery, Field Projects Gallery, and The Bronx Documentary Center.
