Anamari Hrup

Anamari Hrup is the art and program manager of the interdisciplinary project Abandoned Plants Sanctuary. Together with Eva Jera Hanžek, she has been leading the project and creating workshops, events, exhibitions, and domestic and international collaborations in the Green Refuge mobile greenhouse at Krater creative laboratory in the Bezigrad district of Ljubljana.
Her body of work covers the field of painting, drawing, and illustration, combining ecological guidelines and themes, which are already implemented in the project Abandoned Plants Sanctuary. In her works, she develops and upgrades them into a whole, in the mediums of paintings, drawings, and illustration. In her personal work, through an intimate and personal relationship with the above media, she explores the field between individual and collective, between formal techniques and informal approaches. In her work, she subtly incorporates current social events, the center of which is her attitude towards nature, sustainable way of living, and the position of the individual in current socio-ecological circumstances.

Anamari Hrup (1978, Ljubljana) finished her Master's studies in Painting with excellency in 2018 and graduated in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design Ljubljana in 2012.
She was a gallery assistant in 2016 at Axel Obiger Gallery in Berlin and she has been studied at Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Art et de Design de Dijon, France in 2013/14.
