A key element of my artistic practice is a physiologically heightened sensitivity to color — an innate perceptual intensity that has shaped the way I interact with the visual world. This unique sensibility allows me to compose finely tuned, emotionally charged color combinations that form the expressive foundation of my work.
Color, in my practice, is more than a formal element — it is a language of affect, intuition, and transformation. I work primarily in abstraction, where the absence of representation opens space for the viewer’s imagination. Without narrative or figuration, the focus shifts to perception itself: to the intensity of hue, the rhythm of form, and the emotional atmosphere generated through painterly relationships. In this sense, my work aligns with traditions of lyrical abstraction and affect theory, which consider how color can bypass rational interpretation and speak directly to the body.
My installations often consist of abstract works in diverse formats — oil on canvas, collage, watercolor — interspersed with ready-mades and small tactile objects. Ana Saut is a contemporary artist whose practice unfolds at the intersection of painting, psychology, and spatial research. She studied at the Perm Art College and the International School of Design in St. Petersburg, and holds a Master’s degree in Psychology from Perm State Pedagogical University. She later continued her formation at the Free Workshops of the Moscow Museum of Modern Art (MMOMA).
Since 2004, Saut has participated in more than fifty exhibitions across Russia, Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Her solo shows have been presented in London, Moscow (MMOMA), Belgrade, Budva, Bogotá, and Galle. She has taken part in residencies in Montenegro, Sri Lanka, and Serbia, and was a finalist of the Arte Laguna Prize in Digital Graphics and Animation (2023–2024).
