Anastasia Egorova

Anastasia Egorova (Astrakhan, USSR, 1981) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Mallorca, working with ceramics, installation and photography. Her practice treats clay as an ancient repository of collective memory and the body as an archive.

Born in the Volga Delta, a landscape defined by the meeting of river and sea, she creates “haptic mantras”: sculptural anchors that connect ancestral intelligence with the dissociated modern self. Her stoneware pieces are hand modelled, glazed with Shino glazes of her own formulation and fired at 1305°C (Cone 10). In her Sourdough series she mixes lentils into the clay, so that the fired work carries the trace of a life spark.

Her projects, including Sagrament (Benet Mas Prize), Lineage, Sourdough, Surrender, Domus Nostra and Archetype, form living ecosystems that invite viewers into a quiet encounter with memory, silence and the weight of ancestry.
