Anastasia Vlasova is a Ukrainian documentary photographer living in Kyiv.
She has covered the Euromaidan Revolution, Russia’s annexation of Crimea and the
shoot-down of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 near Donetsk.
Anastasia's work focuses on human rights violations, and the humanitarian aspects of the
war in Eastern Ukraine, gender, and identity issues.
Vlasova's photojournalism has won several awards, among them the gold for College
Photographer of the Year and the bronze at Picture of the Year International, honorable
mention at Anja Niedringhaus Courage in Photojournalism Award and became a finalist for
Leica Oscar Barnack Award.
Vlasova has a master’s degree in journalism from the Institute of Journalism at the Taras
Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. She is a 2015 Magnum Foundation Photography and Social Justice Fellow, the participant of XXVIII Eddie Adams Workshop, and Nikon-
Noor Academy masterclass.
