Jaroslaw Ancuta

Born in 1969 in Kolo, Poland Jaroslaw studied art in the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw and A.Mickiewicz University in Poznan- department of Fine Arts Education in Kalisz. In 1995 in Kalisz he graduated under Professor A.Niekrasz (Diploma in Paintings) and Professor A.Jocz (Diploma in Sculpture) and the following year he finished Academy in Wroclaw with a Masters Degree (Diploma in Paintings) under Professor A.Klimczak- Dobrzaniecki. His works are mainly in Paintings and Graphics-Drawings.In his imaginary world weirdness, beauty and satire are mixed together. Twisted and deformed silhouettes and expressive contour characterize Jaroslaws works. Intense but soft colours play the major role in his paintings while tangled but very detailed webs of fine lines are so characteristic for his drawings. Once the process of creation of the next artwork begins the end is always unknown and unpredictable for its author. Each piece is a separate story which builds up in Jaroslaws mind and gradually is revealed on the paper or canvas from a tip of a pen or a brush.
