„My works are not representations but
experiments – organic, unpredictable,
radically open.“
My practice merges drawing and process. In cycles such as
Purgatorium or Idioprompte, large-scale and intense works
emerge – transformations driven by invisible forces. In this
way, my works open spaces where personal experience and
collective myth intertwine.
My biography spans several decades. By the age of twelve, I
already knew that I wanted to become an artist, a painter. In
order to legitimise this ambition within my social
environment, I studied painting and sculpture in Freiburg and
Frankfurt am Main. During and after my studies at the
Städelschule under Jörg Immendorff, I began exhibiting my
work and, through this, came into contact with scenography
and architecture. I went on to work for several years as a
freelancer for leading agencies. I met my wife, and together
we had two wonderful children. Since then, we have been
living and working in Berlin.
