Andrew Sturgess

Born and raised in a small town in Connecticut — near the shore, but in the woods. I was educated in art and design at Brooklyn’s Pratt Institute, a truly wonderful and multicultural experience.

I seek to find beauty in normal and strange places: alleys of the mind, quiet parking lots, a tree covered winding road, a crowded area, etc.

Colors are emotions, and I choose my colors very carefully. I want my paintings to each be their own meditation, or a curious universe to find yourself in.
