Andrey Tarakanov

Andrey Tarakanov is a photographer and visual artist based in Barcelona. Born in Murmansk in the north of Russia, he later moved to Moscow where he worked in filmmaking as a cinematographer and director before focusing on photography and visual arts.

Since 2008 his work has centered on visual storytelling through photography and film. Tarakanov has collaborated with international brands including Adidas, Mercedes-Benz and Ford, and has worked on documentary and visual projects in several European countries. In 2017 he was invited by Business Oulu in Finland to create a short documentary series about the region’s economy and startup ecosystem.

His photographic work explores the relationship between people, architecture and urban space. Working primarily in Barcelona, he focuses on minimal compositions, geometry and the play of light within the city landscape.

Tarakanov’s photographs have been recognized in international competitions, including being selected among the Top 50 photographers in a major international photography contest. His work continues to develop at the intersection of street photography, architecture and contemporary visual art.
