Angela B Schofield

Born 1947 in Bradford, Yorkshire.Educated in Yorkshire and Hertfordshire. A graduate of London University, Goldsmiths' College. Has taught and run art departments in Hertfordshire; Yorkshire and Liverpool; now works as a painter and illustrator residing in North Yorkshire.

My style is photo-realistic with some Art Deco and Gothic influences. I feel that my best work is usually based upon imaginative or fantasy themes ... mythological, magical and spiritual subjects frequently relating to seasonal atmospheres...therefore much of my inspiration can come from literary sources.

I work in a variety of media: oils; gouache; inks; and pencil work; but also enjoy the challenge of mixed media studies.

I am a graduate of London University, Goldsmiths' College and have been designing successfully for many years, my work having been used for book illustration, C.D. covers and greetings cards (companies such as Camden Graphics; The Oxford University Press; etc.). My most recent work has been a series of monochrome illustrations for the novel "Oh! Pre Lachaise" by Jim Yates which was launched in Dublin on 11th September 2007.The illustrations and photographs of the launch can currently be viewed on my web-site.,
