Angela Larotonda

Angela Larotonda (b. 1982) is an Italian abstract painter based in Munich, Germany. With an academic foundation in architecture (B.A., Sapienza University) and further studies in photography and visual communication at ISFCI Rome, she brings a multidimensional approach to her practice—one where spatial awareness, visual storytelling, and emotional intuition converge in a distinctive artistic voice.

Larotonda’s creative journey began through the lens of photography, where she investigated the tension between light and shadow, stillness and motion. Over time, she gravitated back to painting—her most instinctive and visceral form of expression—embracing abstraction as a language capable of embodying both unfiltered energy and deliberate control. Her process unfolds through rapid, intuitive decisions: fluid drips, gestural brushstrokes, and layered chromatic fields evolve into compositions rich with depth, nuance, and sensorial contrast.
