Angela Rose

I am an artist based in Radlett, Hertfordshire and I have exhibited locally and in London and Bristol. I went to At Martin's school of art where I did a summer course in drawing, collage and painting. I have also studied humanities with the Open University and colour physiology with the British School of Interior Design.

I like to paint with flowing brush with a serene colour palette and also bold colour depicting subject and place of time. I am inspired by birds, objects and nature. I have been inspired by the artists, Marc Chagall, Claude Monet, Matisse and David Hockney. I want the viewer to feel engaged in my paintings and feel an emotional response whether it be because of colour or the subject matter.

I paint with flowing brush building layers of colour, exploring texture and surface and I like to focus on the subject as the focal point. I like to paint birds, nature and floral subjects with acrylic and also objects of interest including retro. I am inspired by colour every day.

Painting is an expression of feelings, mood, colour and emotion.

I attended St Martin's school of art where I completed a summer course in drawing, painting and collage. I have also studied courses with British Interior Design and Crown paints. I studied Humanities with the Open University and achieved a certificate in Humanities.

I have exhibited at the Royal Academy of art summer exhibitions, London, The Royal Watercolour Society at Bankside gallery and the Royal West Academy, Bristol and had a solo exhibition at a centre in Radlett. I have also been shortlisted at the Chelsea Art Society.
