Angelo Colazingari

I see painting as a path of research and knowledge that goes beyond the simple form, a search for transcendence towards other states of consciousness.

Through my artworks I explore the multiple dimensions beyond appearance. In fact, in my works, the interest in the mimetic reproduction of reality has always given way to the expression of one's perceptions through the color; the object therefore becomes only a pretext.

I am son of an artist. My father Giovanni has been an excellent caricaturist and illustrator, who taught me the first basic elements of drawing and painting techniques. From an early age following in the footsteps him, i began to work as a painter, illustrator and caricaturist.

Then the teachings of Maestro Roberto Santarelli, teacher of the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome has been fundamental for me, under whose guidance I experimented and deepened the various painting techniques, initially favoring the refined watercolor technique.

The meeting with Alberto Parres was decisive in my artistic growth path. Thanks to his teachings my work become free from a classical figurative, to introduce a research path in the aesthetic field oriented above all in experiencing my perceptions in relationship with the spiritual qualities of color. In this manner the brushstrokes became quick and essential filling the volumes and giving to the work a sense of transience and intensity of the lived experience.

In addition to Rome my birth city, and other Italian cities, I have exhibited in France, Spain, Germany, Russia and Sweden.

As well as in Italy, his works have also been appreciated abroad, enriching private collections both in the USA (Boston) and in Australia (Sydney).
