Anja Basara

I am an educated Surface Designer, Product Designer, Artist & Glassblower.

My passion is very broad, and spreads between different artistic disciplines and mediums. Painting, sketching, working with clay, glassblowing, 3D modelling, flame working, fusing, working with resin, silversmith and MIG-welding.

Movies, music and comics are all huge parts of my inspiration source. Something thats very noticable, specifically in my glass creations, is that It's either something very sweet and happy, or something immensely dark and mischievous.
Often in the working process I'm guided by my emotions and what I feel in that moment. My imagination and creativity is mainly fueled by fascinating imaginery worlds of Tim Burton's creations. The gothic, melancholic, misunderstood and passionate theme with a bit of a comedic twist. That is something I very much relate to. My interest in psychology also weighs in. A deconstructed, distorted and eclectic place where the only limit is set by your imagination.
