Anna Morrel

A self-taught artist, I am interested in exploring textures and colors that mimic entropic processes in nature. I work primarily with acrylics and texture additives, painting on both canvas and wood panels. Long fascinated with the decay and weathering of natural materials (especially oxidation of metals such as rust) and the transformation of materials by moss and mold growth, I create similar textures in my works to provoke a sense of awe for the passage of time in my viewers. Because of my additional studies in both science and music, I am interested in exploring the nexus where art, music, and science meet. I want to create a new kind of artistic poetry that spans these disciplines.

独学で芸術を学び、自然の状態が時につれ変化するのを色やテクスチャーで再現する事に興味が有ります。主にアクリルペイントやテクスチャーを加える部材を使ってキャンバスや木製パネルに表現します。自然の物質が、変化し朽ちる様（特に金属が錆びるよう）や苔や腐りによって形を変えていくことに、長きに渡り魅了されて来ました。作品において、それを再現する事で観る人に時の経過への畏敬の念を強く呼び起こしたいと思います。さらに科学と音楽の両方を学んだので、アート、音楽、科学が出会う場所を探求することに興味があります。 私はこれらの分野にまたがる新しい種類の芸術的な詩を作りたいと思っています.
