Annette Stork

Annette Stork was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. She currently resides in Pretoria, South Africa.

After studying at the Johannesburg School of Art and the London College of Printing, she practiced as a graphic designer in the publishing industry. As time went by, she sought more interesting challenges, and as a freelancer, she began working in different styles and mediums of art, including painting, murals and stained glass design. However, it was painting that captured her passion.

Annette’s paintings may be described as semi-abstract fine art – between representational and abstract. The primary mediums she works with is oil or acrylic on canvas, hardboard or paper. In many ways, her art it is unconventional, experimental and unique, often eliciting a myriad of thoughts and emotions. Her goal is to continue evolving her work in a progressive and experimental manner.

She enjoys experimenting with different concepts, mediums and techniques. Currently, Annette uses figures, faces and symbolic elements such as lines and geometric shapes to represent energy and active motion. Often, her artworks include emotional and spiritual elements as well.
