Annika Banko

Annika Banko is an American contemporary artist based in Scottsdale, Arizona. Working primarily in large-scale abstraction, Banko has exhibited her work in solo and group exhibitions across the United States, including New York, Miami, California, Michigan and Hawaii. Her paintings are held in private collections throughout the U.S.

Banko’s practice explores love, connection and the emotional contrasts that shape human experience. Working with acrylic, glazes, aerosol and expressive handwritten language, she builds paintings through layers of color, gesture and instinct. Her recent body of work, LOVE ME STILL, is a deeply personal conversation about the resilience of the human heart.

Her work has been commissioned for residential and publishing projects, including six original works for a 13,000-square-foot residence on Malibu’s Carbon Beach and original cover artwork for author P.T. Berkey. Banko’s work and projects have been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Detroit Metro Times, VoyageLA and Maui Now.
