Initially I started painting to escape from life, and I found my life made more sense. I was not able to relate to people and the world in an intimate way. I noticed if I was recanting an experience in my mind it came out on canvas, and I was able to alter my perception and find a Divine love/connection in the situation that I was not seeing before. I gained wisdom. Many times, during a discovery phase of the canvas, I noticed a heart, emerging from layers of paint, or wide open on the surface, not hidden. It always astounded me, still does. I think we are all looking for assurances in different stages in life, and I am often reminded It Is Always Here.

Painting has evolved into exploring emotional connections using colors. I am curious how color relates intimately with each other. The multiple layers represent our interwoven perceptions from past, to present, to desire, to Truth. If you hold the painting up to a light you will see hidden layers of colors come through, and the painting changes. This is what I am doing to myself, holding my experiences to the Light.
