1000 miles of Forests

This series paints portraits of the beloved trees found in the miles of forests in the North. Between Canada, and New England there are miles of beautiful forests, that are my subject matter. The Pines, Birches and Beaches are the main trees that are painted, along with their wonderful array of color. . This gestural way of painting these pines are heavily influenced from when I was a dancing in NYC. The movement of limbs and the movement of tree limbs are very similar. I am trying to capture the wind moving the trees in the subtle way wind can move things.
