these artworks were created in California in 2015 after caregiving for my mother who passed away at the end of 2014. although sadden by her passing, there was also a sense of release as she had been suffering from dementia for the past few years of her life and caring for her was a challenge for me. these paintings show a sense of release and relief pertaining to an arduous time in my life.
