Eclectic Vision
This series has been inspired by the works of several of the great Abstract Expressionists of Post World War II, which include Franz Kline, Hans Hoffmann, and Robert Motherwell.
Most of the paintings are 'action' or gestural in nature. There is a strong use of color, often red and sometimes pink, along with shades of grey and black, and almost always gold pulling the viewer into the work. Each painting begins with a textured application of Acrylic Gesso to create a design after which acrylic paint is applied allowing the underpainting to show through and add interest. Splatters, drips, and markings are a big part of the process.
