Essence

My portrait paintings are continual explorations of colour, form and texture. I am currently investigating how far I can stretch the form whilst still portraying the essence and energy of a person. I am interested in sculpting paint onto smooth surfaces, creating animated fluid portraits. My question is how much paint can I scrape away yet still retain that strong connection between the sitter and the viewer.
