I live in the high mountains, and my neighborhood is full of wildflowers and plants all Summer. I have been making prints using these local plants and incorporating them into my paintings. I am interested in the blurring of abstraction and representation, and my process is playful and experimental. I make gouache studies of gardens wherever I travel and then make prints to realize these ideas. I never set out to focus on botanical forms, but the prints I make have led my work in a new direction, one deeply rooted in place, process, and discovery.
