Marking Time

All of the pieces in the Marking Time series have been found on the street, discarded by society. Rust, wear and tear and defacement all add to the texture of the materials and the narrative behind them. By repurposing the found objects as sculptures, JakBox reignites and reimagines the connotations and poetry of worn materials through a process of reassembly and reconsumption. What JakBox finds so compelling is the different associations you can make from these thrown away objects. Some look like abstract paintings, others like landscapes, each triggering visual connections to styles of artwork.
