Dennis Akervik CoelhoAS A SELF MADE ARTIST WHO CAME UP THE HARD WAY PLOWING MY WAY THRU THE CRAP AND BANKRUPTED MORAL AND ETHICAL FIBRE, I HAVE COME TO KNOW THAT THE FINE ART WORLD HAS BEEN EXPLOITED AND RAPED LIKE ANY OTHER VIABLE CURRENCY SYSTEM. I HAVE BEEN TRAINING ARTISTS FOR THE LAST SIX YEARS. I HAVE DEVELOPED A SYSTEM BY WHICH EACH ARTIST WORKING UNDER ME MUST ADHERE TO AND AGREE TO OR I WILL NOT WORK WITH THEM. IF ONE OF THEM TELLS ME THAT DAMIEN HIRST IS AN ARTIST I ASK THEM TO LEAVE FOR BEING PATHETIC.

Christopher Logemann@Dennis Akervik Coelho "developing a system by which each artist working under me must adhere to" , you sound like a fascist leader with a chip on his shoulder. Art is about freedom and expression and you my friend are attempting to stifle that. We all know the sad influence of commodity in the art world, but at the end of the day everyone has a right to participate in art in any (legal) way they desire.

My work speaks for it's self. I have helped more emerging artists and unlike some who have sold out for the sake of Greed, I have taken more of our youth off the streets and given them homes, studios, and belief in themselves. So before taking shit out of context learn to read you moron, do your homework, Hirst is a pompous ass and anyone or institution that backs him will pay a price. Read it in my book.
robert bloombergThere is nothing original about Hirst. He's no more than a copyist. Check out Thomas Downing (1928-1985) amongst others. His spin paintings were being done on Coney Island boardwalk concessions for .25 seventy years ago when I was a child.
