The 2017 Alabaster Series is a set of small minimalist portraits sculpted in alabaster that seek to break space through matter, movement, light and shadow. Through defined, delineated and continuous curves and planes they make up the entire figure. Its small size allows the manipulation of the piece with the hands, allowing us to feel the surface, the weight and the three-dimensionality of it. The piece made of alabaster from Aragon is finished with a thermal process to make it opaque, allowing the silhouettes, planes and emptiness to be highlighted through the play of light and shadow.
