Colour Fields Divided
Colour Fields Divided started as an idea to allow the beauty of colour to become the main subject of the painting. By dividing the canvas into two parts, exactly one-third and two-thirds, I have constrained the composition and allowed the viewers to relate directly with the essence of the gestural strokes, scrapes and marks of colour. Multiple of layers acrylic paint and polyurethane create a smooth texture on the surface whist allowing the viewers to peer inside the painting’s depth alluding to the canvas’s past history as either a blank canvas or a former painting. Each painting is then sealed with layers of polyurethane to ensure a unique and long-lasting work of art.
