Earth Tones

An ongoing series of paintings inspired by living and working here in the SW of England with frequent walks in the surrounding countryside and along the coast. I seek out the untamed landscapes surrounding me – the Jurassic coastline and crumbling cliffs, the wilds of Dartmoor and the energetic rivers. I aim to capture the mood and energy I experience whether looking out to sea, standing on the top of a tor or exploring rivers and woods. Working mainly on canvas and wood panels in acrylic, I use a variety of tools for mark-making to create layers and surface history.
