Fashion Icons

Through the ages women have been demeaned, maligned, and controlled yet the spirit of resoluteness that is at the heart of a woman for survival can not be quieted. In Fashion Icons I wanted to express a woman’s power that is understated through its oversaturation. I wanted to represent icons of the church that gave hope in times of oppression from politics and religion. I wanted to show true ethnicity and costume where it has been homogenized. I wanted to retell their stories because these women are legends that can supersede the eras from which they came.
