My work represents a continuous involvement with abstract geometric shapes defined by the careful manipulation of color and light. The relationship between form and color in the pictorial field requires a visually symbiotic presence. The challenge revolves around selecting a direction as a vehicle for colors, in addition to choosing the appropriate color and light for that purpose. This interaction creates a primary spatial illusion, along with side effects. I think areas of precisely defined colors, when pitted against each other, compete for dominance. In general, my compositions remain formal and symmetrical to be triggered by unexpected changes in color and light.
