Foggy Woods: Cyanotypes of northern California

All works on paper are UNFRAMED unless otherwise specified. These are all hand-printed original photographs using the 170-year-old cyanotype process and very big negatives the same size as the final print. They are of the woods near my house in Oakland, across the bay from San Francisco in northern California. I love how light through fog transforms the familiar into a dreamscape. I am an early riser, so catching the hushed, fog-blanketed world at dawn is easy for me. This series is ever-growing as I continue to hike the trails every week, the same as I have for 20 years.
