Giraffes in Berry woodcuts 2022

Giraffes stroll through the Berry in central France past my summer studio, sniffing the oversized poppies, sunning themselves under sunflowers. Snails pass by in a mighty way and bright yellow butterflies flutter about. There are several versions of each motif in this series of three, which is set up as a tryptich and works very well. The variations, like the one depicted, are mostly unique pieces. This is because the 7 printing plates, which I cut by hand, were sometimes printed several times on one paper until I was satisfied with the result.
