Graphite on Black -- Nudes
Implicit drawings emerge from darkness of black paper.
At first glance these artworks look as replicas of Malevich’s Black Square. However, when you are walking around, a hidden image starts to appear. Changing the angles of observation, you will see the drawing in many different ways. Various accents and features are visible and actual to constitute the scene.
Then switch on and off some lighting fixtures, or open and close the curtains or blinds. Compare how the scene looks in different hours, in sunny or cloudy weather. Finally, highlight it with a mobile phone torch. Each time you will get a distinctive image.
Being very sensitive to the mode of lighting, these artworks are an inexhaustible source of visual information and joy.
