Lacy Series

Lacy Series In these works, the artist uses lace from the dowry of his wife, the master painter Göknil Gümüş Sungurtekin, to show that the material not only has an aesthetic value, but also carries traces of traditional history and personal memories. The lace, combined with the artist’s colors, creates a new story on the canvas. The lack of female figures in Ottoman Turkish painting, combined with the artist’s visuals of moments and memories, creates a new story.
