Living Forms

Living Forms explores the individuality, relationships, and visual structures found across animals and botanical life. Through watercolor and mixed media, these works begin with close observation—gesture, gaze, posture, color, repetition, and natural form—and consider how these visible characteristics shape our perception of another living being. Animals and plants are approached not simply as subjects to be represented, but as individual forms existing within larger relationships and environments. Transparency, layering, fluidity, and controlled accident allow each image to develop through observation while retaining the expressive behavior of the materials. Together, the works reflect an ongoing interest in the space between what we can see and what remains unseen within living life.
