Maps of the Imagination

My paintings reference landscapes and cartography. Growing up in the Bronx I looked at subway maps as a way to dream and escape; imagining exotic places on my journeys. The lines on the maps directed me to far away places that came alive in my imagination. This new series of densely layered colors, are networked to form a complex atmosphere loosely referencing geographical readings. These are maps of my imagination materializing in paint.
