Moments from a Field Journal

I am a fifth grade teacher, and one of the units my students love the most is our field journals. We observe, write about, and sketch the world around us, and I am so impressed by the way that illustration can captivate a growing mind. The paintings in this collection are made with a mix of acrylic paint and pen ink, and they focus on capturing precise and accurate images of some of the fascinating creatures in our world.
