Surrealism

Though Surrealism began as a literary movement, its influence on the visual arts, including painting and photography, is still evident today. Artists like Salvador Dali, Rene Magritte, and Joan Miro solidified the groundwork for a style dedicated to the irrational -- dreams, childhood memories, and the subconscious are common surrealist themes. Emerging artists are continually inspired by these masters, as shown in the works of Sammy Slabbinck, Federico Bebber, and Michael Vincent Manolo.
