From the Vogue

One gloomy rainy day, I was looking for inspiration while flipping through the pages of old VOGUE magazines, of which I had several large dusty piles. The end of the “big glamour” era insisted that I express my attitude to it and leave a trace. Irony and transformation, this is what I wanted at that moment. Matt acryl, instead of glamorous gloss. To simplify the forms, reducing them to minimum, and to achieve maximum expressiveness by so doing. That was what I wished for. The result was laconic and vivid, completely different from the magazine. But it was a new reality that had emerged. The works have been performed with acrylic paints on wooden panels. They have a pronounced relief.
