Seascape Mediations

This work is inspired by Marina's time living on the Pacific Ocean in California, a deeply artistically resonant time which brought a new phase of her career into being. This era of her creative life was a departure from representative art, city and cultural life, and reference in exchange for attention to natural forces of Earth and innately evocative images which she calls her "meditation" pieces. Drawing on her classical training in fine art, Marina uses gloomy, overcast, grey-blue hues to elevate photography through manipulation into raw, emotive portraits of the natural world.
