Sculpture Collection 2023-2025

Chroma Series Sculptures Seda Saar distinguishes her work from the Light and Space artists of the 1970s through its mutability. The variation in the perceptual experience that occurs, is achieved through the layering of color in the fabrication process and with prism-like mirrors, reflecting and refracting light. Her forms have the effect of emitting light whose color and quality, and even their materiality, transform as the viewer passes by or light levels change. This has been described as disorienting, yet pleasurable, and has been tied to “the feminine” in the sense that it adjusts based on the conditions of the world around it yet remains itself.
